Intel Core i7 is a family of several Intel desktop processors. The new Core i7 has many new features that represent significant changes from Core 2 Duo.

The new LGA 1366 socket used for Intel Core i7 is incompatible with earlier processors. Core i7 has support for DDR3 memory only and 32kb L1 cache, 256kb L2 cache and 8mb L3 cache. All Intel Core i7 processors are made in 45nm process technology with total 731M transistors.
